Simple Tool Tricks #2

If you have access to old fire clothing, you can take the large pocket often found on pants and make a simple tool pouch to organize all your tools. How many times have you been fishing through your pant or coat pocket for a pair of pliers or screwdriver. This allows you to grasp the pouch from your pocket as a unit and easily remove what you need from the pocket. I store my pouch in my left pants pocket with all my hand tools. This isn’t a great option if working in gloves and zero visibility; however, when its most commonly used during normal operations it provides a good alternative to keep things organized. Some things I keep in my “Pouch”: Vice grips with rope Allen wrench set for use on Pressure Reducing Devices Universal screwdriver Razor knife / pocket knife combo Channel locks Metal cutting dikes Folding spanner
