Tie the victim into the stokes basket utilizing webbing provided in the basket.Do not rely solely on the provided stokes straps or seatbelts.Ensure the webbing does not travel over the top of the bars.

Attach the bridle system to the stokes basket. Use the custom made bridle when possible, not the provided bridle given to ladder companies. Make sure the gates on the carabineers are to the inside of the basket, inside the small pegs as shown and locked. Adjust the bridle to ensure the head does not ride lower than the feet.
With whichever rope you will be using as your mainline, tie an in line figure 8 with an extended tail. At the end of this tail eventually will be a figure eight follow through. Leave enough rope in your tail to tie the follow through 8 and have a loop large enough to allow the rescuer to move above and below the basket.
Attach the main line at the in line 8 to the anchor plate, at the top, in the large hole, utilizing a locking carabineer.
The end of the tail should have the figure 8 follow through attached to the rescuers harness at the waist.Do this by using a figure 8 follow through knot. Do not use a carabineer for this attachment.
The rescuer should then have a long prussic attached to the mainline below the in line 8 and secured on the other end via carabineer to the front of the harness at the chest or waist. This prussic is what will support the rescuers weight.
Now attach a pickoff strap to the rescuer. This pickoff strap should attach to the rescuer at either the waist or chest and then attach to the in line 8 loop in the belay line. It should NOT be attached to the anchor plate. The strap should be oriented so that the attendant can pull downward on the strap to take up slack.
Attach an etrier to the anchor plate with a locking carabineer and let it hang down over the basket on the side the rescuer is working on. This is used to assist the litter attendant in positioning himself while on rope.
Your belay line will be a rope of a different color. Tie an in line figure 8 and leave another 4 foot tail. This tail is then tied into the victims harness if he is wearing one via a figure 8 follow through.
Attach the belay line to the anchor plate via locking carabineer.
The Rescuers primary attachment is the main line and his secondary attachment is the pickoff strap to the belay line.
The Victims primary attachment is the basket itself and his secondary attachment is the belay line tail.
Rigging the lines
The main line should be rigged into a haul lower system using whatever mode is needed haul or lower.
The belay line should be rigged into a system utilizing a double prussic belay. This system should have available to it equipment required to if necessary convert the belay line into a haul lower line.
You should have at a minimum one bomb proof anchor for the main line and a separate bomb proof anchor for the belay line.
Both lines should be of different colors.
Both lines should be on different anchors.
